Here's the reply from Louis Rukeyser:

"December 1, 1995

(My snailmail address)

Dear Dr. Wirt and others:

Many thanks for your interesting fax.

We have, in fact, often treated this very subject on Wall $treet Week
With Louis Rukeyser, and I'm sure we will be doing so again in the
future.

As you may know, I have myself been a long-term bull on the technology industry, and have consistently advised patience in the face of short-
term volatility. I have written about this in considerable detail in
my monthly newsletter, Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street (800-892-9702).

Best of luck to you all, and don't let the inconsistent analysts get
you down.

All the best,

(Louis Rukeyser)

LR/gm"

The last line is what strikes me the most; the three stooges (Tricky
Dick Whittington, Kurlak and Vinik) have transcended inconsistency.
At the very least they have created the very strong, widespread
perception of conflict of interest and impropriety. And possibly they
have acted unethically and manipulated the market to their own
advantage.
