Senator says he forgot about St. Patrick's breakfast
By Andrew Miga
Wednesday, March 17, 2004

Sen. John F. Kerry [related, bio] yesterday said he's been so consumed by campaigning that Southie's annual political bash - the St. Patrick's Day breakfast - slipped his mind.

``Honestly, I forgot we were on the eve of that because we've been moving so hard and fast,'' he said. ``I love doing it. I went within weeks of my prostate surgery (last year). I've always tried to go, but I've also gotta get some time.''

Kerry plans to take the next week off from the campaign trail, retreating to the elegant home his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, owns in Sun Valley, Idaho.

The senator said he might phone in to Sunday's Southie event, however. ``I just haven't made a decision,'' he told the Herald shortly before formally clinching the Democratic nomination.
