A truly tragic day for America. We are having a prayer service tonight at 7p.m. at st paul's where I serve and tomorrow at noon as well. Our family is going to fly our flag at half mast as well. To see the pictures live this morning just made one feel whoozy and shaky all over. The pearl harbor analogy, by the way, isn't quite right. Pearl Harbor was still "out there" in the Pacific for many Americans (of course Hawaii is part of us). The numbers here will no doubt be higher but there is another eerie part of this which is it is the greatest loss of life on domestic American soil since the Civil War. It wasn't out there in Europe or the Pacific, it is right here in our backyard. A HUGE wake up call for our country in terms of our own vulnerability.
