Thanks for sharing your well nourished thoughts.... you've verbalized some bottom line issues which I had only vague rumblings about in the back of my mind. If I was ready to pull the trigger now, which I am fortunately not, I believe prudence would tell me to go with MB as the more matured product. I think Cyber... needs more time to shake out, at least for the less adventurous users amongst us.
>I got into this ridiculous and time >consuming comparison of everything from > order entry buttons to connectivity >options.
Time consuming, yes.......ridiculous, I disagree... you now are familiar with two systems with which to trade and may in the future be able to utilize feature ideas from Cyber into MB in an optional system setup scenario. I don't think one can every know to much detail about the tools available to the trader. The real deal is to know alot but use very little. Also I'll bet your bottom line realizations would not have been so clear if you had not mentally 'handled' the products so extensively in light of all the thread pressure to go with CT, at least early on in your posts.
>But, because MB uses the Real Tick > software, there is less for me to >learn if I have to switch brokers.
Do you mean this is a fact because Cyber is derived from Real Tick or another meaning?
>However, the deal with Pristine is strange. I agree with you there. I've been dling the nitely audio feeds from Pristine . Mr. Velez is IMHO an exceptional perveyer (sp?) of instruction in the ways of the markets. He is very articulated thru analogy and would be helpful to those of us who don't already know too much. But I fear that number is small within the Cybertraders group who post here on SI at least. But mention has been made weeks ago, on the audio feed,of a mysterious new SW which Pristine will be offering to its members. But, like the Cybertrader thread post by Mr Velez, no further detailings have been offered even when inquiries have been posted by high paying Pristine Chat room members. Maybe the deal between Pristine and CyberCorp is on shaky ground. BTW there is also a 9:00 PM (post time) market commentary on the Pristine site by Gene Inger which I highly recommend called The Pristine Daily Briefing. Freee til 6/12.
>If the big boys > ever decide to start offering high- >end systems, both may go the way of the > Osborne.
I think the big boys are making too much money off order flow and spreads from the traditional online brokers to what to change the status quo any time soon.
>I keep reminding myself that the computer, >software and even the broker, are > just tools to trading. Cut your >losses short if any become a problem.
I agree about cutting losses and moving on to the next ( and you already know Cybertrader <g>) But I'm really big on the right tool for the right job. Computerized trading is a lot like fine cabinetmaking in that respect. But then again I've been accused of being too process oriented many a time...... Hope to be a brokermate of yours one of these days...... and I wish you luck with your new SW....
