James,
I read your long post to Barry ... all the way through ... really! Thanks for letting us into the mind of an AOL options trader. I also prefer the options trading over the equity buys, however I'm a seller. If I choose to own a put or call due to a very strong sense of downward or upward trend ... I'll sell the other side at the next out of the money strike to pay for owning long. I hate paying for option premium (time) and choose to get a little more aggressive if I want to own long by selling the other side. AOL certainly fits this pattern and I will, on Monday, be selling the 65 or 70 calls and buying in on the 60 Puts. Don't know what month, but something that pays for itself.
