JBinPA I was gonna keep my mouth shut today, but your post stirred my desire to speak up. First, I wanted to address your offense taken with Sharck's thoughts that to some degree we brought this on through our foreign policy. However, this is exactly why we find ourselves in this sickening crisis. We have often stuck our necks out through history to build up our "allies" in a military fashion against their enemies, ala Iran/Shaw, S.Korea, Condanistas/Central America, Kuwait/Iraq. In a way we are trying to protect our interests, but we have gone about it in a very "hostile" fashion. We have promoted hate and war through our distribution of weapons and training for combat. I would be hard pressed to find in the history books to see this action by Canada, Switzerland, or other nations who rarely find themselves in the forefront of terrorism.
The second point I was taken by was your statement that you are a CHRISTIAN American. You must hold the Old Testament nearer to your heart, because my God does not promote death and destruction of my enemies. I think a more Christian approach is to work through these problems with diplomacy and LOVE.
I hope you don't pray to the same god that bin Laden does where heaven is granted to the victor.
