[Stock Talk - Perlf competitor] About a year ago, I found out from our network group that they had never installed some expensive network software, "Optivity" from Bat Networks, a RAS competitor. I spent hours on the phone with both several departments within Bay, and with one of their resellers. trying to get info on the requirements (operating system revision levels, other system software componants),
upgrade costs. Bottom line was that Bay Networks staff could not give me information on other pieces of software their own product required - pretty weak for a software package that retails for $7,000 (no, I did not make the original purchase decision). I mention all this in response to Rainier's link on PERLF customer support. There seems to be a large, material difference between PERLF and their competition in this regard. IMPO Scott
