Not so bad for TMTA--looks like they had a problem in only one "batch" of chips. NEC is recalling 300 of them. All the same, it is trading at 20.5 after hours thanks to Altera and Gateway. Nasdaq futures already down 60 points for tomorrow. Yikes.

The recall, expected to be announced later Wednesday, affects an estimated 284 notebooks, all of which have been shipped in the Japanese market. Transmeta has fixed the problem, so no further chips containing the flaw are being produced. The flaw made it difficult to reinstall operating systems on the notebook.
