Other than a sale, why would CASH exit MPS?

MPS is the value driver behind CASH. Otherwise, it is just a sleepy midwestern savings bank which in today's market should trade about 70% - 80% of book, basically where it is now.

Exit from any business involves charges, primarily severance. This is a service business, not an industrial, so there isn't a factory to write off.
