Digital Video Systems(Dr. Sun). It sure some time to sell off the VCD inventory. They don't expect a pick-up in demand for VCD until after the end of Sept. I expect a pick-up to begin the second week of Sept. The Chinese New Year(The Year of the Rabbit) falls on February 16th, this year. That's 19 days later than last year.........................

"We anticipated that the softness in the Chinese video CD player market would continue through the second quarter of fiscal 1999 as we've announced previously. We are exiting this portion of the business to focus our energies on higher-margin, cutting-edge technologies," said Edward M. Miller, DVS' President and CEO. "We are remaining focused on our single technology strategy with new product lines such as the DVD-ROM and related componentry to be released in the months ahead."

DVS expects that it will take until the third quarter of fiscal 1999 to sell off the remaining video CD inventory it has in China. To be fiscally prudent, the Company had already established reserves against its video CD player inventory in the fourth quarter of fiscal 1998. DVS has consolidated the financial results of its Panyu, China Joint Venture through June 30, 1998, although the Company has not yet resolved its outstanding legal issues with its former Joint Venture Partner.
