joe...I could explain how telcom equipment works ..you wouldn't believe it...and I can't take another contarian wild view . the cpq inside story is wearing me out. I'm an expert in technology. I don't use consultants for ANY technolgy. I know more than they do.....
BUT I USE A TELECOM CONSULTANT..THAT'S HOW COMPLEX THE PRICING IS ON EVERY ELEMENT OF TELECOM AND OF COURSE PICK THE WRONG STANDARDS AND YOU ARE DEAD MEAT. THAT'S HOW I GOT 7.5 CENTS A MINUTE ON LONG DISTANCE FOR JUST A 1 YR CONTRACT AND 2500 A MONTH MINIMUM.
PLUS THEY CAN'T TARRIFF STIFF ME EITHER. I'LL BE AT 1 CENT A MIN. LD IN MY CAREER. OF COURSE INTERNET AND PCS AND CELLULAR IS ANOTHER STORY.
You do not select a switch without a consultant.
The guy I use is the president of Signet communications in austin 512-476-8350. whenever i sit down to negoiate any part of the hardware or telecom the vendors shake in their boots when I bring Rob Dnaiels in. try him you will not be disappointed.
