According to an article in today's WSJ on-line, problems
at Schwab in the last 2 days have affected others.

A computer glitch at discount brokerage firm Charles
Schwab Corp. left potentially thousands of customers
unable to determine whether their mutual-fund and
securities trades were being carried out.

Schwab isn't alone in experiencing computer problems.

E*Trade Group Inc., an electronic brokerage
company in Palo Alto, Calif., shut down its Internet
trading system on June 24 during the final hour of the
market because of a glitch in the company's
hardware. Callers had to wait an average of three
minutes before they could talk to a broker; but trades
were processed based on the share prices at the
time the calls were received, a spokeswoman said.
