VG: Thanks for the point of view. But the one with the first in advantage is MSFT. For big iron ORCL is the db of choice. The O/S on the server while a good source of rev is actually a doorway to the apps. which seem to have more of an upgrade renewal rate than the OS's and seem to cost more. MSFT takes everyone seriously - too seriously according to their detractors. But in the enterprise server area the big surprise to the frenetic Linux crowd will be W2K. That will sober them up quickly. Thanks again JFD
