Broadcomm in your living room

Broadcomm Chief Financial Officer William Ruehle
said the company's (BRCM: news, msgs) products
are in more than 90 percent of cable set-top boxed
shipped. The chipmaker has made five acquisitions
in the year to date, with its sixth acquisition due to
close in March. At the end of December, Ruehle
said Broadcomm had just under 1000 employees,
including 600 engineers. Many of the employees
have been added to the roster through acquisitions,
with no turnover, Ruehle said.
