1. i did read all your posts, and will enjoy to continue the discussion.

2. maybe i have to been to brief in my posts, and i apologize for that.

3. cable companies do not have a cost advantage on coax-cable. the phone wire to your house is cheaper than the coax.

4. it does not matter if you are a phone company or a cable company, you need to support splices to each house/business.

5. cable business does not simply stick the cable modem on the wire, the wire now needs to have special repeaters installed.

6. phone companies have been investing in fiber rings around communities which allows for far greater bandwith than coax.

7. they do not need to install the wire to my home for splitterless adsl,
most people have extra capacity already untapped, or else will convert the current dialup line into a adsl line.

8. i am happy to see cable companies have begun to charge less for the same programming (i am kidding here). whether you use cable or dsl, expect prices to rise over time.

the post is in your court, and i look forward to furthering my understanding.
