I gained a lifelong friend.

That's a sentiment that goes at the very top of my sense of values. Many of us have gained life-long friends here, some through mistakes, some through successes, but most often because we share and care.

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say that my deepest regret for the year was my part in getting some of you involved in that mess.

I hope you don't beat yourself up about that. Each of us makes our own investment decisions. The fact is that you didn't get anyone involeved in anything. Those who invested involved themselves of their own accord. Not only did you not twist anybody's arm to invest in the stock, you made it VERY clear in your report from day #1 that the company was not playing a Gorilla Game. That alone should have been an abundant indication of dramatically increased risk.
