Let's hit them in their pocketbook.

It is time to lessen our reliance on the Mideast's oil reserves. Our economy is being held hostage to the oil fields of these countries. It is time to add .20 or .30 cent surcharge to each gallon of gas to have the government hire the best scientists in the world to solve this problem. It's obvious that private companies don't have the funds to solve this problem. A lot of people will say the government will screw this up if they get involved, but at this point in time we can't afford for them not to get involved. At the least we should be in Alaska next week drilling for oil.
