Like you were thinking, that article has so much wiggle room in it, I wouldn't spend much time on it. Reminds me of the gun control argument when it starts off with a poll that shows 80% of Americans are for "reasonable" gun control laws. Define "reasonable". the Islamist agenda is much more forward looking. It offers a more spiritual alternative to the broadly materialistic and libertarian agenda of much of the West, which it fears is being imported in the Arab states along with economic open door policies. Forward looking? More spiritual alternative? Materialistic and libertarian is bad? Seems the religious leaders want all the power and money for themselves.. :) Enough of that article...
