Gary, Again, I can't argue with your rational about upgrades. Time must be considered. The ability to upgrade often ends up only as a crutch. When sub-$500 computers are upon us the consumer won't feel so bad about tossing the whole thing in a few years. Your Pentium II-300 may be out dated soon but it will likely get the job done. Then again, buying the fastest computer at a given point in time is really a suckers game. Right now about 2/3s of the fastest is a good entry point. Will the K6-2 be around in 2000? Probably. Supposed to peak out at 400 Mhz this year. Fortunately, though, you will be able to plug a K6-3 into the same motherboard and run at 450MHz+ plus shortly after into next year.... All the best, Jim
