Leo, Your humility in networking does not become you. I think there was some static in my last communique, so, like Bean, "let me have one more stab at it, please."

2 Hrs. to defrag, Yup. If you solve a problem "will they come?" Why has it not been solved! Sure, if I were so "smart" I would have already solved it. But if it can be done continuously on a server, why not a client? That's not Corel's problem, but if the computer industry worked at solving small details like that, and a few other manuevers, costs can be cut, and upgrade dollars earned. More mileage can be gained out of existing hardware and technology that, quite frankly, is pretty good. The world's largest software environment is not necessarily the best, but its here, and we've all paid for it many times over in the past 17 years.

My antenna picked up something like that this morning from IBM. They said, "we learned to work with Java, not against it." I suggest that Corel can create sustainable revenue and profit by working with the world of Micosoft than against it.

I beg to differ on the corporate costs of licensing and upgrades. For software companies to survive, organizations must budget for upgrades and licenses irrespective of the computing solution.

Now, as to Remagen, allow me to remodulate my opinion: I believe that if Corel can successfully run its Suite over a "bridge" to a Java based NC, without bottlenecks and sacrificing performance, that their Java needs with respect to the Suite will be met without a re-write for now. Is that better?

IMHO that many companies are spending a fortune trying to be the first out of the chute with an "emerging technology," and then struggling to find "buyers." IBM's move may be turn out to be an embarrassment, maybe not. Either way, they are scrambling just like Corel. You are right that Corel's efforts must have been taken very seriously at Lotus.

As for COS/COSFF, small moves in the right direction can make this stock a good value in the long term. More of the past, the winds of change are already on the horizon. (I can see it from above.)

I can see for miles and miles . . . (Pick that one up.)

Scott
