Research Capital Corp. analyst Brian Antonen said his previous target of C$25 on ATI Technologies Inc.'s (T.ATY) stock was based on a multiple of 20 times expected calendar 1999 earnings. Antonen said he raised his multiple because ATI has diversified its revenue away from relying on personal computer makers. Contracts with set - top box manufacturers should also be longer-term relationships than ones with PC makers, providing ATI with more predictable revenue streams, he added.

Antonen expects ATI to land additional contracts for set - top boxes. This should include contract extensions from General Instrument Corp. (GIC) and a deal with another set - top box industry leader, Scientific-Atlanta Inc. (SFA), he said.

Antonen also said ATI will unveil its new Rage graphics technology to investors on Friday.

He expects ATI to list on Nasdaq, possibly by the end of the year.

While other analysts said the contract is positive, they haven't changed their price targets on ATI, mainly because the deal won't have a significant effect until fiscal 2000.
