Joan: Thanks for the note and for your views. When my favourite quarterly report sleuth speaks, I listen. (g) This mania did provide some scars to all of us who became bears too early, but it's really starting to pay it all back and then some.....and it is still early days. With respect to AMAT, I share your views that the company will survive. It is in fact an excellent company with a solid balance sheet, superb management, and world class technology. Unfortunately they are at the wrong place at the wrong time. There are few customers around for their systems. What I expect is that the market is going to provide us with an opportunity to buy many strong companies at fire-sale prices. I'll join you long AMAT, but it will be at much lower prices. Best, Earlie P.S. MU is an annuity for patient shorts. I'll just continue to ride it on down. Keep MOT on your list of companies that are spitting up blood. Irridium is operational in September. It's a multi- billion dollar bet that won't pay its way. There are darned few customers. Most of their other businesses are already in shambles.
