One reason why is that "we conservatives" have a tendency to defend instead of attacking. Whomever first levied this charge should be required to "prove it". Commentary and opinion is not proof.

I understand Michael Steele was all indignant. I wonder, did he cite specifics, name and place or did he merely repeat what he heard from the media and the liberals walking amongst the Tea Party folk?

Until the conservatives and the republicans get real about issues such as this and not just accept the charge, we will continue to dance to their tune.

Did anyone (including Michael Steele) inquire whether there were any leftists amongst the Tea Party groups that might have blurted out a racial epithet? Does anyone know? Has anyone asked?

I tend to take this type of accusation with a grain (no, a bag of) salt because it is so commonplace by the left when they are losing or under threat of losing. They know the MSM will not challenge, or even wonder, about a racial charge.
