The words of your friend are quite accurate, however, it appears that bin Ladens grasp is more widespread then we earlier were led to believe, with connections in Iran, Iraq, Saudi, UAE, and undoubtedly Syria and Palistine. Would take quite a few ground troops to cover that territory...
