Not that much pain. We'll go back to the 'good old days' when citizens that did the real crappy work got paid very good money. And that influenced other wages... if the not so crappy jobs lowered their wages too much, people would turn to the really crappy jobs to keep their heads above water...

It puts upward pressure on the whole wage scale when people have options.
