This reminds me of a story my sister told me after returning home from living in Glasgow Scotland for a year. She said that at least 1/2 (her estimate) of the population of Glasgow were unemployed. The unemployed in Scotland receive govt assistance with housing and a stipend to get by until or if they find work.

She told me that every corner in the city has a casino and that every store she walked into had slot machines. She said the people spent their days at the casinos smoking cigarettes, drinking beer and giving back what wss left of their stipend to the gambling houses. We know that gambling is heavily regulated by the state and we also know the state collects large revenues, in the form of taxes from gambling. Nice way for the state to get back some of that welfare money they distribute.

She also said these people were passive, demoralized and depressed.

I've never been to Scotland, and I'm only conveying what she told me, but if true..........and I have no reason to doubt what she said.......I believe this is what the current administration has in mind for a majority of the population of the United States.

How easy it must be to control passive, demoralized and depressed people?
