Money ran over to the Nasdaq yard to play. Mr. Greenspan was providing free ice cream.

More seriously, energy stocks have been doing well for the past 4 or 5 trading sessions.

Re: OXY - Why not loved ?
1. Some people don't like OXY's CEO because of his compensation (See Yahoo board for more info)
2. Columbian pipeline (big part of revenue) keeps blowing up - about once a week. At least 2 flavors of Marxist guerillas at work - one group of which met with Frank Zarb, head of Nasdaq. (They want a listing ?)
3. Some concern about reserves at Kettleman Hills and decline rates.
4. Possible hangover from OXY's past CEO, Mr. Armand Hammer.

I figure since part of Wall Street HATES OXY, they can't hate it more -

If Wall Street moves to just strong dislike, the P/E should got to 8 - that would put OXY at $44
