Bush I swore that there were 500,000 Iraqi troops lined up on the Saudi Arabian border. This was used, along with the "babies tossed out of incubators(TM)" story to propagandize the Congress, the American public and our allies. Both stories were complete lies.

Bush I lied then.

Bush II is lying now.

The Khafji incursion was a minor border skirmish whose significance you are blowing completely out of proportion. It's a tempest in teapot, only important in your mind and not a cause for WW III.
