what's involved in adding a 3 1/2 floppy drive? Best thing is to look everything over closely before you start pulling. Make a few notes on locations and connectors and sizes. When you pull it out of the old computer keep the cables with it. There should be an extra power plug coming off of the power supply on the new computer. (if not you will need to get a power splitter cable from the local megastore). The major question? Is there a slot on the mother board to plug in the floppy ribbon cable? If not you will probably have to buy a splitter ribbon cable that will allow connecting both your cd and the floppy to one board slot. Take the cable with you so you can match the connectors to what you have on the floppy and cd. If you are lucky it will all take about 10 minutes. If not it may turn out you should have just kicked in for a new computer with a 3.5 drive. good luck. that's how I'd approach it.
