Hurricane Katrina exposed New Orleans for what it really is. The current economy has exposed Atlanta for what it really is. New Orleans and Atlanta are far from alone in their "special" urban categories. A "special" segment of society is in the perpetual custodial care of the government. The government wants it that way. Large corporations want it that way. The "special" people in the "special" segment want it that way too. They even have a "special" card! The card has "special" powers! They can use it to make virtually any wish come true, solve any problem, and repel any perceived or imagined threat! It is called the race card! One can only use the race card if one's skin is the correct color. Of course, you get to pay for the free rides, the free eats, and the free digs! If you complain, they will use their magic card to ruin your life! How lovely! Bah, you know the rest! How many more financial gang rapes will you watch your families endure before you decide to say something?
