No, you misunderstood my post. Perhaps TI and others who make the multipurpose chips are running fast to go nowhere, but perhaps there are profitable niches that will remain?

Actually, I was asking the question. I'm not so sure that I am as bearish on all DSP as some are here. Memories are clearly commodity chips and some DSP chips are, but I'm not sure all are. Love to hear something from those more knowledgeable than I about the industry. From what I've read it is maturing, but there are questions about whether mutlipurpose DSP chips will be the major thing in the future.
