Sadly the hatred among people began in the beginning. Cain slew Abel for no acceptable reason. From there, the hatred, warfare, slavery, holocausts, and other atrocities, grew to unthinkable proportions.
There is a very popular saying in Israel about the Palestinian suicide bombers and the general mindset found there ...
"if they loved their children , more than they hated Israel ...then there would be peace .
* so i guess love is always the "key" , and starts at home with the wife, children and the father, and then emanates outwords. The family is the single basic unit of the human tribe, and so much begins and ends there ?
PS: On losing sons , I helped a friend die recently and he did finally succumb to prostate cancer after a year of decimation with it . We took him out to the backyard one evening to see Mars in the night sky closer than it has been in 60,000 years , and he refused to come back in . He died two days later under the night sky and surrounded by the garden and nature he loved so much...not indoors for he knew it was his "time".
Afterwords we had a very "upbeat" wake, and 2 weeks later another remembrance gathering that brought up from the south his brothers and sisters and the "Colonel" who was his father , one of those famous test-pilots who was out with General Yager in the early jet testing days . I conversed with him about losing a son before himself , and he was so very touched . It is out of sequence this losing a child , and very disturbing. But the party we had for his remembrance was wonderful... |
