downloaded the patch, deleted the entry in the registry, updated NAV, scanning whole c drive. got rid of msblaster in taskmaster. still have window open showing w32.blaster.worm and nav cannot access or repair this file. computer no longer rebooting. that is something this worm does. also shuts down nav, which i was able to manually re-open for autoscan. had trouble downloading new definitions, but between that , and msft's patch, i seem to be okay, but the worm is still there somewhere. i will call symantec tomorrow and do their 39.95 help assist i believe. thanks all. this one is afukker. larry
