I think Hillary is so conditioned by her earlier White House years to be combative, that she will fall into that trap over and over again, i.e. her fear of looking weak or passive will make her look too aggressive and just unpleasant. My gut feeling is that people are tired of both fear and bashing, and they will look to a candidate that offers a higher message than that. McCain has sold his soul to the Republican base to get the nomination. Which means that most of his "principles" are probably pretty flexible at this point. I have written him off.
