Toshiba Aims For 3.2 Million PCs

Toshiba has set its global PC shipment target at 3.2 million units for fiscal 1998, a 17 percent year-on-year increase. The company projects that domestic sales will increase 7 percent to 650,000 units while overseas sales will expand 17 percent to 2,550,000 units. Plans call for having notebook PC sales account for 85 percent of total domestic sales this fiscal year.

NEC's MPEG-2 fish.......................

NEC has introduced a space saving version of FishClub (488,000) which is image interior display or virtual aquarium using MPEG-2 technology. "FishClub Junior" is space saving version of original FishClub and has reduced space to place by 50 percent. Size to place is now W580xH405xD468mm.

"FishClub" is an original interior display that utilizes video imagery to recreate swimming fish. High definition images compiled using the HD monitor system as well as MPEG-2, accurately reproduce every detail, right down to the fish scales.
