11:07 ET Warnings Season : Last week was the first full week of the Q4 warnings season, which typically extends into mid-January. Thus far, the numbers support the market's message that earnings estimates have finally retreated to realistic levels. Warnings in the Dec 17-21 week totalled just 38; in the comparable Dec 18-22 week last year, there were 94 warnings. With several weeks of warnings to come, it's possible that this trend will change, but the numbers to date are very encouraging.
