Sounds like a net positive for SI. If I read your post correctly, you're saying that the big firms are worried about too much dissemination of information to the average individual. Sure there are bashers and hypesters on these boards. If you look around long enough, they end up being the noise. There are some truly talented and insightful individuals in this community.

Nothing's wrong with shorters or people who go long and believe a stock is great. I think the real problem is people attempting to deceive investors or manipulate stocks. I don't think you need SI for that, and, in fact, the free flow of information can often make such things more difficult.
