Good article, but the analogy between healthcare and cell phones is not necessarily a good one. Healthcare will never be cheap - for similar reasons why plumbing will never be really cheap. It is labor intensive, and it requires labor by highly trained professionals. If I were hospitalized, and on a ventilator, I'd want my doc and my respiratory therapist and my nurse to be highly trained and well paid professionals.

And yet, I don't mind using a throwaway cheap prepaid cell phone.
