VOD from Scientific-Atlanta................................. multichannel.com September 03, 1998 S-A Closes VOD Deal Atlanta -- Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and Concurrent Computer Corp. have finalized what had been a letter of intent to jointly develop a video-on-demand system. The deal integrates Concurrent's "MediaHawk" video server with S-A's Explorer 2000 digital set-top system. Michael Harney, vice president and general manager of S-A's digital-subscriber-network division, said in a prepared statement that the finalized joint-development agreement means that the two companies "can move quickly to meet cable operators' demand for a cost-effective video-on-demand service." - 9/3/98
