Gregor, grampa and All:
Seeing a little boy of almost 5, charge for the car, was heart-stopping. But seeing his Mother reply, "just drive," was worse. This happened more than once, and the little one was not going to give up.
The Father was running (as in laps), and was not watching the boys. I believe this is a complex problem, and she feels as if she has three boys. The Father is over 40, a doctor, and acts the age of his sons. She is dealing with so much.
It was not fun for my son to see, but I had the opportunity to discuss this with him. He is very concerned about their manners and now I realize why the other boy, who just turned six, is not able to play nicely with the other team-mates. He is on his own team, and that is evident. Please just put this family on your list. They need the Lord, big time. Meanwhile, I will continue to pray about how to best handle this with the Mother. She seems very frustrated. It just confirms what I realize that money is not the answer. Unfortunately, they are not aware of that, and their priorities are off. I will not let my son play with them again.
By the way, I realize that my son plays well, with well-behaved peers, and can get along. He is sensitive, but he is such a great son, and I appreciate the qualities and character, I see!
