<< If TXN can go down 5+ on good earnings, think what will happen to INTC tomorrow. >>
Exactly, Mike. Look at JBIL, too. They beat the number by 2 cents but warned that they'd **only** make 30% or so, sequentially, for the next two quarters while they ramped up their **three new plants**. Wonderful news, right? TANK-CITY!! Down 17 points, so far. 17 points down into the tank based on a promise of sequentially **good** quarters. They've got big cash, no bills, an excellent customer base, yada-yada-yada. Into the tank. A sign of the times.
Intel is promising a lackluster 4Q on top of losing three cents this Q, all at a time when large caps have already fallen from favor. Add to this that the public is now demanding sub-$1,000 PC's. How will a P-II fit into that picture?
Nobody's saying INTEL isn't one of the best companies on the planet, their just saying that for the next 6 months or so, there are much better plays out there for the savvy investor. Intel will be fortunate to see 90 again by Xmas. IMHO.
Good luck to all.
