all done. your words encouraged me to try again. i downloaded the newest version of w32.blaster.worm revoval tool. it ran all the way thru. i got the following message from symantec: w32.blaster.worm has been successfully removed from your computer! report: files scanned 63,000 number of deleted files - 2 number of repaired files - 0 number of viral processes terminated -0 the number of registry entries fixed -0 ( i had already manually removed the registry entry early on) so i guess i am clean i now have NAV running every night i will check for IU i have zone alarm i have trojan hunter i have a prophalyctic over my keyboard i have two pit bulls that i only feed twice a week i have atmospheric pressure in my house greater than the outside air and the quivering mass of protoplasm in front of the monitor will never be negligent again. should be enuf. ggg larry
