On the contrary it is. HDS sells an NC today that is NC Reference Profile compliant (i.e. Java virtual machine, Web browser etc) and which can be used to connect to a MultiuserNT host to access Windows apps. It is i960 based by the way. "A dual PentiumPro system may be able to support hundreds of clients as file or database server but as an MSOffice server ?" There are companies doing this today: insignia.com and section 2.4 of: ncd.com
