Maybe you are right, and a sweet disposition is on the same gene or something that Neanderthal characteristics are. Although I sort of doubt it, because human genealogy is very complex. It would be interesting to do computer measurements of facial features of convicted violent criminals and see if it is true or false that these features are more common in criminals. Of course, even if they turn out to be, it may be social ostracism rather than anything genetic which is causative.

Who knows? Perhaps they died out gradually because they were just a whole lot NICER and less aggressive than Cro-Magnons.

Interestingly (to me), behavioral characteristics are connected with hair color to some degree in cats. For example, orange male cats seem to often have low self esteem and very gentle, big-hearted natures.
