finding the extremes is not always that easy.

Which makes anticipatory market timing a difficult endeavor. Even when those extremes are reached there is always self-doubt and when those extremes trigger a sharp decline few profit because few are postured for it emotionally or financially at just the right time. Over the past decade you could have pointed to many extremes but the markets kept rising. This year you can also point out many extremes but the markets have been flat on a ytd basis which is my point of measure not from market intra-year highs.

My favorite indicator is the inverted yield curve sometimes it indicates and sometimes it "don't" but half the fun for me is trying to ascertain where markets may be heading and I am not convinced we are heading into bear territory just yet.
