Businesses do not prefer the illegal laborers. Some criminals prefer to act illegally. That will always be true. The penalty for being caught with illegals is $10,000 per incident. A business that had employed 100 over a few years could be fined a million dollars. For most small businesses that would be the end. Most illegal immigrants present forged documents and portray themselves as legal workers. Immigrants are good for our economy. I agree with you that we need to strengthen our legal immigrations system. I think we need to allow many more legal immigrants in than we currently do. Part of the problem stems from the current restricted supply of legal immigrants. Demand is higher, and illegals provide the supply, that is demanded. Peter
