From next year there will be non-linear editing boxes and servers that will suck in every digital aquisition format. It's obvious now why Fast put its multi-format NLE box, Blue, on hold. Fast is first to implement C-Cube's MPEG2-only chip (launched here last year) and will have had advanced warning. Thanks to the clever new silicon, Fast can replace Blue's four codec chips with just one. <<snip>>
