Bryan, why do you go on like this. Many local telcos have flat rate plans or as in BellAtlantic's area the cost is $.01 per minute.

Inexpensive routers, rather than ISDN terminal adapters, have the ability to only keep the connection up when there is data to transmit and to "trick" the workstation into thinking that it has a constant connection to the host/server. This is called "spoofing"

While it is true that early improperly implemented ISDN data links did occasionally run up enormous bills, that has gone away with education and more nature products.

As regards home use for ISDN. Many homes in my area have it. BellAtlantic ran a 2year long promotion called ISDN anywhere in which if your community did not have a central office with the right kind of switch for ISDN they would run a "tail-circuit" from a co THAT DID TO YOUR DOOR FOR FREE.

At 1cent per minute I would have to be on 333 hours to get a 200 dollar bill as you state. My boss would like that, but I have a life.
