I've got to say it's difficult for me to write "Dear AWhartHog"
Anyway, thanks for those links. Looks like Korea will open almost entirely. Those premiums have diminished from the 100% plus range of earlier this year - SKM is still the highest, but only about 45% now, down from over 150%! Those arbitrages - discussed on this forum earlier this year - have worked out well.
I guess I really should short some more SKM in the morning.
Now, Indonesia Fund rose 14% today while its NAV declined. ICEFI estimates a 140% premium on that closed end fund tonight. Until the currency woes of this week, the IF premium had stabilized and diminished.
Fortunately, I covered some of my shorts earlier this week, but unfortunately it is impossible to short now that the price is under $5.00.
In general, however, the premiums on Asian closed-end funds have declined markedly since last fall, and there are some fairly attractive deals now, particularly in India and Taiwan.

P.S. Will get back to you on SEC filings. I don't have it figured out as far as ADR filing requirements. I do know you can phone their sponsor - probably Bank of New York or Morgan - and ask them. Big help, huh? |
