Are you using any Java applications through the browser? that can cause such leaks. Also, are you low on system resources or memory? there is a big difference. If resources, were you running lots of programs before and just closed them? Also, check to make sure that you have the latest browser updates. 5.x IE versions had some memory leaks for example
